My Skincare Staples

Hello, lovely people!

(I’m on a bit of a roll, aren’t I? Three posts in two days; is this the new and improved blogger me? Stay tuned to find out, haha)

I am not blessed with flawless, acne-free, pore-less, porcelain skin. In fact, my skin is super sensitive, acne-prone, and scarred from acne I had during my teenage years. Compared to before, my skin and I have come a long way and fought a lot of battles, against each other and against the elements.

I spend most of my year in New Delhi, India. Undoubtably one of the most polluted and populated cities in the world. Air pollution, bad water quality (often times), and harsh sun tend to be factors that my skin has to endure at all times. And so, I’m grateful to a few products that fight strong and keep my skin feeling and looking fresh and healthy. While these products cannot shield your skin against the occasional breakout, they do help your skin deal with those and everything else that it’s faced with, kindly and gently.

These are all products that work great with my skin and while they may or may not work in the same grouping for yours, perhaps giving the individual products a try might work wonders!

Thalgo Cocooning Cleansing Milk

I’m not the biggest fan of milk consistency makeup removers but I’ve used this one consistently. It works so well for my sensitive skin and makes taking a face of makeup off so, so much smoother, faster, and less frustrating at the end of a long day! I would definitely recommend this people looking for a gentle but efficient milk formula makeup remover.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser

Now, I’m fully aware of how expensive Kiehl’s is! But from my experience of using their products for years I can tell you that it’s a bang for the buck! Their products are very, very kind to acne-prone, sensitive skin and the tiniest dot of this cleanser is all you need. It foams right up and cleanses fully. It’s paraben-free, silicone-free, fragrance-free, and oil-free. If you do end up investing in one, I can safely tell you that this will last you a long, long time.

Kaya Purifying Acne-Free Toner & Kiehl’s Breakout Control Blemish Treatment Facial Lotion

I can’t begin to tell you the number of bottles I’ve gone through with this toner, I’ve lost count! I’ve been using this toner for the last 5 years and I haven’t changed brand. It works magic for my skin, keeps it calm, and has helped so much with past acne scars. This toner in combination with the Kiehl’s lotion, is my saviour on a difficult skin day and the reason for all my good ones! Again, while these Kiehl’s products are expensive, they work effectively in little doses and so the cream lasts me a very long time. In the last four years, I have only gone through one full bottle and am currently on my second. If you have sensitive, acne-prone skin or scars, these two products are great to try!

Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion

I was never a big fan of moisturising my face thanks to my previously oily skin. However, my skin’s changed over the last couple years and now is more combination (often becoming rather dry in the winter time). This moisturiser has been a blessing. It’s super lightweight, good in small doses, fragrance free, and very, very moisturising. It soaks quickly and soothes my skin. It has also worked very well in combination with the rest of the products I use, not irritating or suffocating my skin. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a simple, fuss-free, nourishing moisturiser!

Nivea Strawberry Shine Lip Balm

I’ve gone through tons of these tubes. This is just that dependable, delicious smelling lip balm that I use constantly throughout the day to ward off all the dryness my matte lipsticks often cause my lips to feel. This balm also has a bit of a glossy pink tint which works great on days where I don’t feel like putting on a lipstick at all. Overall just a dependable purchase!

Until next time,
